Application Procedure

Please download and print the 2013 Application Form (in PDF format).  Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and notifications are sent out within 2-3 weeks of application.  Students are advised to apply early, as space is limited.

Scholarships Available

URI Chinese Studies Scholarships - Due March 1 by 4:00 PM

A number of scholarship awards are available to URI students studying and interning in China during the summer of 2012 and/or during the 2012-13 academic year from the URI Confucius Institute and from the Hasbro Corporation. Awards of varying size will be made by a faculty committee based upon quality of application and demonstration of need.

To be considered for any of the above scholarships, please send an email to

chnsummer@etal.uri.edu by March 1, 2013 at 4:00 PM with "Chinese Studies Scholarship Application" in the subject line, and include or attach the following information:

• your full name and address
• your current year at URI (freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior)
  
• your major(s) and any minors you are pursuing
  
• your current GPA (check your records in e-Campus for this)
  
• a current resume
• a formal letter of application telling us about yourself and explaining how a scholarship will benefit you personally

Refer-a-Friend Scholarships - Due April 1 by 4:00 PM

We are offering $100 Refer-a-Friend Scholarships to current students of Chinese at URI, who recruit a friend to join the 2012 URI Chinese Summer School. Download rules here.
