Go Green for Commencement
URI has teamed with RIPTA to offer FREE rides on the Route 66 busses to campus! Sunday's events also will be broadcast and webcast.
Upon arrival, University police and security officers will direct you to designated parking lots within walking distance of the Commencement ceremonies. For additional information, please visit the parking services website for additional information.
Graduate Commencement (Saturday): Attendees may park on the North and South sides of the Ryan Center. Please refer to the map for these locations.
Main Commencement (Sunday): The RI Public Transportation Authority (RIPTA) campus transit service will be operating throughout the campus to and from the parking locations on the map.

Help make Our Commencement a Green One
Sunday only, the Rhode Island public Transportation authority (RIPTA) will offer free service on specially arranged, frequent runs of the 66 bus making all stops. For no-hassle transportation to and from campus, park your vehicle at Kennedy Plaza in Providence, CCRI Warwick, the intersection of Routes 2 and 102, the intersection of Routes 1 and 138, Wakefield Mall, or Narragansett Salt Pond Plaza, and board the 66 bus to URI.

From the north: Take I-95 South to Exit 9 (a left-lane exit onto Rt. 4 South). Follow Rte. 4 to Rt. 1 South. Stay on Rt. 1 until you reach Rte. 138 West, just past the Holiday Inn. (Don’t take the first 138 exit. This would take you east to Newport.) Travel approximately 4 miles on 138 West. The main entrance to campus, Upper College Road, will be on the right.
From the south: Take I-95 North to Exit 3A to 138 East. The main entrance to campus, Upper College Road, is about 11 miles down 138, on the left.
To Ryan Center
From the north: Follow directions above to Rt. 4 South to Exit 5B, Rt. 102, towards Exeter. Turn left onto South County Trail (Rt. 102) to the Rt. 110 intersection (Plains Rd.). Then turn left and follow parking signs to the Ryan Center.
From the south: Follow directions above to Rt. 138 East and follow Rt. 138 to traffic light at the Rt. 110 intersection (Plains Rd.). Turn left and follow parking signs to the Ryan Center.
Area Services

Train: Amtrak 1-800-872-7245. The Kingston, RI station is located on Rt. 138 and is about two miles from the Kingston Campus. RIPTA Flex Service is available for transportation to campus. To schedule a pickup, please call 1-877-906-FLEX (3539 ext. 220) 48 hours in advance.
Plane: T.F. Green State Airport is located about 20 miles from URI. Bus transportation and car rentals are available at the airport.
