THE 10TH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON CHINESE LANGUAGE

PEDAGOGY

June 27-29, 2012, Hangzhou, China

The 10th International Conference on Chinese Language Pedagogy, sponsored by Zhejiang University of China and University of Rhode Island of USA, co-sponsored by the University of Vermont, Yale University, City University of New York, and University of Hawaii, will be held in Hangzhou, China, on June 27-29, 2012.  The 10th International Conference aims to continue to promote academic communication and cooperation among teachers and scholars of teaching Chinese as a foreign language inside and outside China. The theme of the Conference is CFL Teaching and Development of CFL Teaching Materials.  The 10th Conference welcomes Chinese language teachers and scholars to submit papers (in Chinese or English) that have not been published in the following areas but not limited to:

1.     Linguistics and SLA theories versus CFL teaching materials

8.     Comparison and analysis of CFL teaching materials published in and outside China

9.     Modern educational technology and CFL teaching materials

10.  Chinese language teacher training and CFL teaching materials

Submitted research papers should be unpublished original research work by presenters, and they can be either in English or in Chinese.

 Conference Timeline:

  1. Those who intend to attend the conference should fill out and return the Attendee’s Form before Dec. 15, 2011, so that we have your information on file. The information sheet can be found at the end of the notice.

  1. Please submit an abstract no longer than a page, including a title and key words. Please also provide your name, affiliation, and email address before February 1, 2012.
  2. Abstracts will be reviewed anonymously by the Conference Committee. Results will be sent out by email by February 20, 2012.
  3. Those who wish to have their papers included in the conference proceedings to be published need to submit their full papers to undergo a full-paper reviewing process by March 15, 2012. The style sheet will be available at the conference website. Full papers will be anonymously reviewed by the Committee, and review results will be emailed before April 1, 2012.  Those papers that need to be revised at the request of the Conference Committee must be revised, completed, and returned by April 15, 2012.
  4. Conference Fees: The conference fee for attendees from mainland China: 900RMB. All other attendees: 200USD. Graduate students without income from a full-time teaching position can have 50% discount for the registration fee (need to provide supporting materials such as a copy of valid student ID and an official letter from the affiliated institution). Conference fees will cover meals and banquets during the conference, the sightseeing tour during the conference break, conference proceedings, conference facilities, etc. The payment method will be posted on the conference website before April 1, 2012.

March 15, 2012:         Full paper due

April 1, 2012:             Full paper review result notification

April 15, 2012:           Revised full paper due and conference fee due
