Conversational Chinese for Children:
This course is designed for students with no previous Chinese language
background and for the learners of age 5-10 years old. Students will
learn daily conversations in Chinese and some Chinese songs.

Conversational Chinese for Teens:
This course is designed for students with no previous Chinese language
background and for the learners of age 11-18 years old. Students will
learn daily Chinese conversations, Pinyin, and basic Chinese characters.
CI103 Conversational
Chinese for Adults: This course is designed for adults with
no previous Chinese language background and for the learners of age
21 years old and above. Students will learn daily Chinese conversations,
Pinyin, and basic Chinese characters
CI104 Welcome to
ChinaÑCulture and Community: This is an introductory course to
China for those who would like to travel to China or do business in
China.
CI105 Business Chinese:
This is an introductory Chinese language course for those who want to
do business in China.
CI 110 Taijiquan:
This course introduces the basic concepts, components, and practice
of Taijiquan (Tai Chi) including the understanding of the difference
between Taiji and Kong Fu. The students will learn what it is and how
to practice 24-Step Simplified Tai Chi in terms of fitness exercises
and mental meditation.

Chinese Dance for Children: Students will learn Chinese childrenÕs
dance and songs.

Young People: Students will learn basic Chinese dance.
CI114 Chinese for High School Students to Attend Summer Camp in China: An introductory Chinese language course to prepare students to go to China for a Confucius Institute sponsored summer camp.
CI115 Introduction to Chinese Films: This course is an introduction to Chinese movies based on Chinese culture. Related background will be introduced and analyzed before watching the movie on each class, and discussion will be conducted after each movie.
CI116 China Awareness: An introductory course about China, Chinese culture, Chinese history, philosophy, religion, art, literature, cultural relics, architecture, folk customs, intangible cultural heritage, and Chinese performing and visual arts.
CI117 Chinese Food and Its Culture: An introductory course to Chinese cuisine by teaching historical and cultural aspects of Chinese food (e.g., dish origin, different styles), as well as hands on cooking (from shopping Chinese at Chinese market to dish making).

Characters and Calligraphy: An introduction to the basics of Chinese
character composing, components, radicals, and strokes. The course also
provides practice of basic techniques of brushing writing.

Chinese Painting for Children (age 6-12): An introduction to Chinese
painting for young learners of age 6-12 years old. Students will learn
basic Chinese painting methods, listening to fun stories and use Chinese
paint brush to paint frogs, little cats, small house and other fun objects.

Chinese Painting: The course is designed for students with no previous
Chinese painting background. Students will learn basic Chinese painting
methods and paint the four classic Chinese painting objects: plum blossom,
orchid, bamboo, and chrysanthemum. Chinese art culture and art history
will be introduced throughout the course.
LET151 Culture of Chinese Characters: An introduction of Chinese culture through an examination and understanding of characteristics, history, origins, and representations of Chinese characters.
