Confucius Institute Executive Advisory Board had discussion regarding annual and general development plan. Also, the board unanimously approved to add Dr. Raymond Wright, Dean of the College of Engineering at URU, as the new board member.

The 7th World Confucius Institute Conference was held in National Conference Center, Beijing, from December 15th to 18th. About 2000 representatives from all over the world participated the conference. State Councilor Yandong Liu gave a constructive speech at the opening ceremony pointing out the direction for Confucius Institute in next a few years. Our chairman, University President Mr. David Dooley, institute director Mr. Wayne Wenchao He and associate director Mrs. Shumin Li were among the participants. Mr. Dooley participated and presided the University Presidents Forum on December 18th. During the forum, he shared his opinions regarding the system of universities and Confucius Institutes all over the world as well as briefly introduced our institutes work at URI. Mrs. Shumin Li introduced the our institutes�� self-development of Chinese teaching materials at the Teaching Material Forum.
