  1. How does a Convocation Center fit into the University’s overall goals?

  1. What about the size of the Convocation Center?
  1. Where will URI’s Convocation Center be located?
  1. Do the University’s plans include an ice skating facility?
  1. Do the University’s plans include a hockey program?
  1. How much will the Convocation Center and ice skating facility cost?
  1. How much will it cost to operate the facilities?

  1. How will the University support the remainder of the facility’s operating expenses?
  1. What does the University’s fund-raising feasibility study state about the likelihood of raising $15 million from the private sector?
  1. The University already has three other important private fund-raising drives for academic building renovation and rehabilitation on its Kingston Campus. How can you assure the alumni and the public who support such initiatives that these projects to restore Ballentine, Green, and Ranger Halls will continue to receive the attention that they deserve?
  1. One comment made about the Brailsford & Dunlavey report is that the use of the Civic Center to accommodate the needs of the University’s basketball program was not thoroughly examined. Why not negotiate with officials at the Civic Center and invest in a facility that already exists?
  1. The University of Rhode Island already receives a substantial budget from the state. Why doesn’t URI adjust its priorities and find the dollars within its budget and the private sector to fund the arena?
  1. What will happen to Keaney Gym when the Convocation Center is built?
  1. Why should Rhode Island taxpayers without any affiliation to the University support this project?
