Each year, the beginning of the new semester is the most difficult time to find a room, especially in the Graduate Village. The following tips hopefully can give you some help:
1.Contact to find a house as early as possible. Please start to look for a room as soon as you get your visa. The best way to do this is sending email through our mailing list or asking the fellow students to do this for you If you do not have URI email address yet.
2.Temporary room is possible but is not guaranteed. We will try our best to arrange you to live in the other Chinese students' living room in Graduate Village under the their kind help. You should be readily pay for the temporary housing fee to the lease holder 5~10 $/day (based on the living condition).
3. For those who come from GSO, normally the temporary room can be solvable by your advisors. Of course, you are welcome to contact us for help.
4.Graduate Village Housing Office recommends the new students to register to apply for the new appartments as early as possible, even when you are in China and have no visa yet. Please feel free to apply.
5.Should you have any difficulty in this, please don't hesitate to contact the current president for help.
