The URI ASCE Student Chapter secured the third overall place at the 2009 ASCE New England Student Conference and Concrete Canoe Competition. The event was hosted by the University of Massachusetts Amherst on April 17-19. Thirteen colleges from New England and Canada participated in this competition. URI's canoe, RAMBO, finished a strong third, just shy behind Université Laval (1st) and UMaine (2nd). Preparations are already under way for next year's competition to be hosted by Northeastern.
