Ralph Carl George Haas, P.Eng., Ph.D. 1968

Dr. Ralph Haas is the Norman W. McLeod Engineering Professor and Distinguished Professor Emeritus in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Waterloo.

Ralph C. G. Haas has lectured and consulted worldwide, maintaining a prolific output of research spanning four decades. He has pioneered the application of systems concepts and developed innovative technologies for managing networks of paved roads. Many important contributions were made to pavement engineering and infrastructure management. As a result, Haas has acheived national and international recognition for his work which is used by municipal, provincial, state, and federal government transportation agencies. He has published over 400 papers and authored 12 books used widely in the field.
