The Center brings a wide range of academic support services together under one roof. Whether you want to get help for a specific class, brush up on your study skills, talk to our writing tutors about an assignment, help others, or just find a good place to do some studying, this is the place for you!
URI Writing Center
Brainstorm about a topic, organize and develop your ideas, Understand the assignment , learn some proofreading strategies , practice a specific grammatical concept.
CCRI Advising and Counseling Center

The Advising and Counseling Center offers a full range of services for enrolled students. These services include: academic advising, career, educational and personal counseling services. Workshops in academic skills are also offered on an ongoing basis.
RIC Writing Center
The Writing Center is for writers. Students from freshmen year through graduate school, faculty members, and even the tutors themselves take advantage of this service. We are also able to accommodate those students with different learning abilities. Anyone who is interested in writing effectively, in any discipline or at any ability level, will find the Writing Center a useful tool. The service is free of charge.
RIC Academic Development Center: OASIS
The Academic Development Center provides instruction to all Rhode Island College students interested in becoming more effective learners.
The Center’s services include tutorial help in reading comprehension, note taking, time management, content tutoring, and test taking.
Students with disabilities are welcome to use our services as they work towards refining successful study skills. Specialized preparation is available for the following tests:
Pre-Professional Skills Test, PPST (required for students entering the Feinstein School of Education and Human Development); Principles of Learning and Teaching test, PLT (required for State of Rhode Island teacher certification); and National Council for Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses, NCLEX-RN.
The Center also provides help for both the beginning and the advanced ESL student.
