CTC Mentor Training Scenarios

We have added a page with all of the CTC Mentor Training scenarios for download in Word Document format. These scenarios can be used to facilitate discussion of ways to support students with disabilities in higher education. Please let us know how these work for you.

CTC Mentor Contact Lists

We have also revised the Disability Resource Mentor lists to include new mentors that have been trained in 2005. The lists have been divided by institution to make it easier to locate a Mentor. Please also note that we have added a list of mentors from private post-secondary institutions from RI and other new England states. Please join us in welcoming these mentors to the Changing the Culture program!

CTC Transition Support

We have also added a section for secondary transition professionalsthat includes links to scenarios about transition. These are intended to be available to secondary professionals to include as part of professional development within districts. These scenarios may be downloaded and printed to help facilitate discussion about how to effectively support students with disabilities in transition to higher education. Let us know how these work for you, and please create and share new scenario ideas with us.

Reminders for Disability Resource Mentors

The Changing the Culture grant would like to remind Disability Resource Mentors to communicate to colleagues about the importance of including a syllabus statement on their syllabi, and of communicating to students the importance of seeking accommodations early in the semester.

Please explore our web site as it contains much of the most important information you will need in supporting students with disabilities. You can send us an e-mail or call us at 874-2098 for more information. For students who are inquiring about services provided by Disability Services for Students, please check the DSS web site.
