The interactive tutorial uses pop-up windows as part of its normal functionality. However, since Websites often open new windows to display advertising or capture email addresses, a majority of Web browsers block pop-up windows by default, as do popular toolbar applications.
To allow pop-up windows for the interactive tutorials, you must turn the pop-up blockers off for the URI site, which generates the tutorials. Follow the steps below to do this.
For Internet Explorer Versions 6 and 7:
If you have Google Toolbar installed:
Click one of the tutorial links. If you see the word blocked in the Google Toolbar, click on it to change to Popups okay (as shown). The tutorial links will then take you to the interactive tutorial pop-up.
If you have Yahoo! Toolbar installed:
Click one of the tutorial links. If the link does not take you anywhere, click on Pop-Up Blocker in the Yahoo! Toolbar and select Always Allow Pop-Ups From...
In the Yahoo! Pop-Up Blocker dialog box, select buddy.uri.edu and click Allow. Then click Close at the bottom.
If you have other Web browser toolbars installed:
Go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toolbar and scroll to Web Browser Toolbars. Select your browser(s) for information.
If you are using Firefox, Safari, Opera or other standards-compliant browsers:
Go to the Tutorials for All Systems section on your training page and select View The Online Tutorials!

Attention All Students:
As a reminder, the Faculty Senate approved a new policy for the upcoming add period (8.33.11).
To summarize:
The first 7 days in e-Campus is the Open Add Period. This time is designed to allow students to register using e-Campus if a seat is available and prerequisites are met for a given course.
An additional 7 calendar-day Late Add Period in e-Campus shall allow students the opportunity to add courses via permission numbers. This time is designed to allow a conversation between the student and the appropriate Faculty member/Department/Deans Office to determine if it is appropriate to add the course during that time frame. If it is decided to allow registration, permission numbers will be required for any course during these 7 days.
Please note that permission numbers will work for the entire add period. The last day to add, and to use a permission number is September 22, 2009.
Students are encouraged to talk to an advisor or faculty member before dropping a course, as it is imperative to understand the many implications of dropping a class. These may include a possible loss of financial aid (if a student drops below full-time), a delay in graduation, or being off sequence if the course is a prerequisite.
