The Electron Microscopy and Imaging Facility at URI offers many services and research opportunities. Using a wide variety of imaging equipment, our knowledgeable staff is committed to providing a high level of service to our researchers and to making university-based research available to the entire community.

The Facility offers research and teaching services in transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, cryo-transmission electron microscopy,laser scanning confocal microscopy, and light microscopy with digital image acquisition and processing. The EMIF is available for use by students, staff and faculty for research projects and instruction.

The interactive learning and research environment that the EMIF provides is invaluable to giving researchers and students information about the microscopic world that surrounds us. The community as a whole can also benefit from our research by understanding the microscopic realm we continually investigate. Join us in a journey into this fun and exciting small world!
