Hello everyone!
Good night’s sleep as usual.
At 0630, our position was 38o 48”N, 71 o W. Air temp 15.5 o C (60 o F)
Water 8.6 oC (47.8 o F).
Salinity 33.8%; we are definitely in different seas.
The plan for today is to head toward home and revisit the stations we sampled on the way out.
I just saw a gull. That’s the 2nd bird I saw today. They’re the first since we left RI waters.
Most of the day was spent by the GSO teams in filtering water and placing it in storage containers for later analysis. When not engaged in a task, I continued reading my books.
Supper this evening was salsa salmon and pot roast.
I will savor the quiet when we return. There is the constant drone of machinery in the background.
