Argus

Argus and Hercules work as a team. Argus is a tow sled vehicle, which supports Hercules’ mission in several ways. The taut cable that attaches Argus to the ship absorbs most of the up and down movement of the waves, thereby allowing Hercules, which is attached to Argus by a loose 30 meter tether, to wander around objects without being hindered by the sea. Argus is equipped with high definition cameras and large lights to illuminate the area, which allow the scientists to gain a better sense of the surrounding environment and view Hercules working.
