"There is tremendous excitement in seeing and experiencing something "new".  Sharing these experiences, from our past and present, make teaching a joy.  Rediscovering and photographing the wreck of the USS Monitor was one such great experience.  I can now bring another remote and exciting piece of the world into my classroom."

Eric Towle currently enjoys teaching eighth grade US History at Curtis Corner Middle School in South Kingstown, RI.  He has also coached the track team to six state championships. Eric graduated from URI in 1990 with bachelor's degrees in Education and History.  He has recently retired from the Rhode Island Army National Guard as a Major after 20 years of service.  He is the proud father of three daughters, and husband of a wonderful wife who also teaches in South Kingstown.  He enjoys free dive spearfishing, surfing, European travel, and rock climbing.
