Normand G. Dubois received his degree in both Secondary Education and Biology at Rhode Island College and has earned his masters degree. An educator for 36 years, the past 8 years Normand has found himself teaching Pilgrim High School in Warwick, and serving as the Science Department Head.
Normand has participated in many workshops, including those from the National Science Foundation, Brown University, Rhode Island Science Teacher’s Association, Connecticut Science Teacher’s Association, and the New England League of Middle Schools. Additionally, Normand has also been active in furthering his own education by taking courses voluntarily at several universities and colleges throughout the state. In addition to being a Rhode Island Governor’s fellow, a member of the American Federation of Teachers, as well as the National Science Teacher’s Association, he has received multiple awards including a Certificate of Congratulations for Achievement.
Serving as a crewmember on a sailboat, Normand frequently participated in regattas locally and crewed boats on Narragansett Bay. His past experiences with vessels and fishing expeditions has given him a considerable amount of confidence on the water.
