Today
the weather was a bit rough so we worked inside the caldera during
the morning. We attempted to take some dredges of some interesting
underwater features in the southern part of the caldera near the
Kameni islands. The operation was a bit tricky because of the
ship traffic and we had to some maneuvering to avoid some big
cruise ships (see the photo).
The dredges were successful and we then moved to the southwest
of Thera to attempt an ROV dive. The weather was still too rough
so we continued with some gravity and piston coring in the area
of Kolombo volcano.
