Electronic 1098-T Notification

The University of Rhode Island, in conjunction with ECSI, is offering you the opportunity to receive your 1098-T Tuition Statements electronically. If you would like to receive your 1098-T forms electronically, please give your consent by clicking the link provided below and following the step by step instructions. If you choose to receive a paper copy of your 1098-T statement, simply do nothing. As a reminder, 1098-T Tuition Statements are available on or before January 31 for transactions that occurred in the previous calendar year.

To give consent to receive your 1098-T form electronically, click on the link below and follow the simple instructions to sign up!

Step 1: Website:

Step 2; Signup for Electronic Statements by entering your URI Student ID Number (not SSN!), Name, and Email address (with the option to include an alternative email address). ECSI's website is a secure website and ECSI will not share your private information with anyone. This email is strictly sent to gather your consent for receiving an electronic 1098-T Form.

Step 3: Read information, check box, and click submit.

If you have any questions, please visit for information regarding your tax documents and to obtain contact information for ECSI.

NOTE:  Electronic notifications for the 2013 statements have been sent. If you opt in for electronic consent at this time, it will take effect with the 2014 statements which will be released in January 2015.

All students can access their 1098-T statements online by logging into the ECSI website at  You will need to enter the URI school code - IY, your social security number, and the password ECSI provided on your very first 1098-T statement.  If you don't know your password, you can obtain it by using the help button on the ECSI login page, or by contacting Enrollment Services at 401-874-9500 to request an email reminder.

Attention:As of July 1, 2013, both Subsidized and Unsubsidized loans for undergraduate students will have an interest rate of 3.86% and an origination fee of 1.051%. Graduate student Unsubsidized Loans will have an interest rate of 5.41% with an origination fee of 1.051%. As of July 1, 2013, Parent PLUS and Graduate PLUS loans have a fixed interest rate of 6.41% and an origination fee of 4.204%. Click here for more details.
