Enrollment Deposit Information

For Incoming Freshmen and Transfer Students

Congratulations on your admission to URI!  We are delighted you have decided to become a part of the URI community. 

Attention first-year students admitted for Fall 2014 to the following majors:

  • 6-year Doctorate in Pharmacy
  • 4-year BS in Pharmaceutical Sciences
  • Nursing

We are not able to accept enrollment deposits paid online after May 1, or deposits paid by check that are post-marked May 2 or later.

These programs are full. Should you wish to select another major, please contact the Office of Admission at 401-874-7100.

In partnership with Higher One, the University offers you and your family the option to pay your enrollment deposit by credit card or electronic payment (ACH). 

Step 1:  Choose An Option

Option #1: Enrollment Deposit With Housing

If you are planning to live on-campus and require housing in a residence hall, you will be asked to pay a $500 deposit.

Option #2:  Enrollment Deposit Only/No Housing

If you are planning to live off-campus and do not require housing, you will be asked to pay a $300 deposit.


Step 2:  Pay Your Deposit 

          Please have your URI ID number ready. Your social security number cannot be used. 

Deposit by Credit Card – MC, VISA, AMEX, and Discover

Effective 1/1/2014, the convenience fee rate is 2.75% when paying by credit card.  If a deposit of $500 is made, a fee of $13.75 will be assessed, and the credit card will be charged $513.75.  If a deposit of $300 is made, a fee of $8.25 will be assessed, and the credit card will be charged $308.25. Convenience fees are not refundable.


          Deposit by Electronic Payment (ACH) from a bank account

There are no convenience fees for deposits made by electronic payment (ACH)


Enrollment Deposit Refund Policy:

Fall semester enrollment deposits are fully refundable through May 1st, upon proper notification of withdrawal to the Office of Admission.  After May 1st, the deposit is not refundable.  Please also note that Spring deposits are not refundable.

To officially withdraw, please send written notification to The Office of Admission, 14 Upper College Road, Kingston, RI 02881.
