Enrollment Deposit Information

For Incoming Freshmen and Transfer Students

Congratulations on your admission to URI!  We are delighted you have decided to become a part of the URI community. 

In partnership with Sallie Mae Solutions, the University is offering you and your family the option to pay your enrollment deposit by credit card or electronic payment (ACH). 

Step 1:  Choose An Option

Option #1: Enrollment Deposit With Housing

If you are planning to live on-campus and require housing in a residence hall, you will be asked to pay a $500 deposit.


Option #2:  Enrollment Deposit Only/No Housing

If you are planning to live off-campus and do not require housing, you will be asked to pay a $300 deposit.

 

Step 2:  Pay Your Deposit 

          Please have your URI ID number ready. Your social security number cannot be used. 

Deposit by Credit Card – MC, VISA, AMEX, and Discover

A convenience fee of 2.4% will apply when paying by credit card.  If a deposit of $500 is made, a fee of $12 will be assessed, and the credit card will be charged $512.  If a deposit of $300 is made, a fee of $7.20 will be assessed, and the credit card will be charged $307.20. Convenience fees are not refundable.

          OR

          Deposit by Electronic Payment (ACH) from a bank account

There are no convenience fees for deposits made by electronic payment (ACH)

 

Enrollment Deposit Refund Policy:


Fall semester enrollment deposits are fully refundable through May 1st, upon proper notification of withdrawal to the Office of Admission.  After May 1st, the deposit is not refundable.  Please also note that Spring deposits are not refundable.

To officially withdraw, please send written notification to The Office of Admission, 14 Upper College Road, Kingston, RI 02881.





News

Attention:  Summer 2013 billing invoices will be mailed the week of May 20 and payment will be due by June 13. Students are encouraged to view their billing statements online via e-Campus and use our online payment portal at www.uri.edu/es to pay their balance.

Attention:  Please be sure your completed FAFSA includes the University of Rhode Island Federal School Code 003414.
