Payment Information

Your payment is due by the due date indicated on your bill. Your check or money order should be made payable to the University of Rhode Island. Please include your name and student ID number on all checks, money orders, correspondence, and documents.

PLEASE DO NOT SEND CASH BY MAIL!
We encourage you to return your payment (and any pertinent documentation) using the envelope enclosed with your bill.

Any additional correspondence should be sent to:
URI Office of Enrollment Services

Kingston, RI 02881

Payments may also be made in person at Green Hall during the hours of 8:30am to 4:00pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, and from 9:30am to 4:00pm on Wednesday.

  • Any check returned or refused by your bank will result in a $20 charge.
  • Payments of less than the amount due may be subject to a partial payment fee of $30. Late payments may be subject to monthly late payment fees and may jeopardize your registration and student enrollment status.

Due to the high cost of processing credit card payments, the University has made the decision to secure an outside vendor to accept credit cards and electronic (ACH) payments for URI student term bills. Payments will be accepted online via a secure web site created in partnership with Sallie Mae Solutions. To access this website, please click the link below. From this page, you will be able to select from one of two payment choices. Please be advised that the following convenience fees will be applicable:

  • A convenience fee of 2.4% will be assessed to all MC, AMEX, Visa and Discover Card payment transactions.
  • A convenience fee of $.35 will be assessed to all electronic (ACH) payment transactions.

Registration Cancellation And Withdrawal

Non-attendance does not relieve you of your financial obligation or entitle you to a refund. If you decide not to attend the University after you have registered for the semester, the charges on your bill will remain your responsibility unless you properly withdraw or take a leave of absence from the University. If you withdraw prior to the start of the semester, you will have no tuition/fee liability. Once the semester has started, you will be held responsible for the charges in accordance with the University Billing Adjustment and Refund Schedule.
