Job Description: This position provides an opportunity for a graduate student to become involved with an interdisciplinary research team in studying health promotion and healthy behavior maintenance in older adults.
The student will assist with (1) literature searches, (2) data entry and checking, and (3) analysis of both qualitative data generated by the intervention component of the research and quantitative data collected from core projects.
Qualifications:
Experience with both qualitative and quantitative research methods, including familiarity with coding and interpreting qualitative data.
Familiarity with software for qualitative analysis (e.g. NVIVO) and quantitative statistical analysis (e.g. SPSS)

Job Description:
The Tootell Aquatic Center Lifeguard will protect the safety and well being of each member utilizing the facility. The lifeguard will work directly with participants, providing courteous, friendly and professional assistance.
Responsibilities:
A.Insure the safety of patrons using the Tootell Aquatic Center, URI.
B.Provide quality customer service.
C.Enforce all rules and regulations consistently.
D.Successfully respond and care for all emergency situations within the facility.
E.Adhere to and enforce all policies and procedures set forth in the Recreational Services Student Employee Manual & Aquatic Staff Manual.
F.Maintain positive relations and rapport with all co-workers & members.
G.Perform general maintenance/custodial functions as requested.
H.Check chemicals and open and closing shifts.
I.Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings and in-service training.
J.Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
A. Must hold current Red Cross, YMCA, or Boy Scouts Lifeguard Training Certification, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, Standard First Aid, and AED.
B. Previous lifeguard experience preferred, not required.
