Welcome from the Director of Facilities Services

Welcome to Facilities Services at the University of Rhode Island. Our Mission is to efficiently and effectively manage University resources to insure an environment and infrastructure that support the teaching, research and outreach mission of the University.
We are a service organization and we strive to provide outstanding support for the students, staff and visitors that utilize our buildings and grounds.  We feel we are an integral component of the education process, and that our contribution to provide an environment that enhances teaching and learning is significant to the URI experience.

Facilities News

  • Get.Facilities, our new computerized maintenance management system for work orders.

Office Hours

  • Facilities Services office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Control Center hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Maintenance & Repair, Custodial Services and Landscape & Grounds personnel work varied shifts to better support campus needs.

Campus Emergencies

  • The initial point of contact for ALL emergencies is Police & Security at 4-2121 (from off campus 874-2121). Follow up with a call to the Facilities Services Control Center at 4-4060 or 4-2480 if the emergency is related to facilities or utilities.

Facilities Services Administration Department Information

  • Facilities Administration provides leadership and support for staff personnel in the areas of human resources, payroll administration, financial management, procurement, stores management, training & development, policies & procedures and administrative oversight, including information technology, the Facilities Services Control Center and University’s State Vehicle Fleet.

Recycling At URI

  • The Waste Minimization team is always looking for new members.
