Facilities Services

Welcome to the Facilities Services Control Center website!

The Control Center provides a single focal point for day-to-day facilities issues. This includes customer inquiries regarding service calls, work orders and information relating to all utility systems.

To request work from any Facilities Services department, call the Control Center at 4-4060 or 4-2480 during standard work hours and be prepared to offer:

  • Information relating to the problem/need in as much detail as possible.
  • The exact location including building and room number or exterior point of reference.
  • The name and extension of a point-of-contact to aid in our response effort.

If you prefer to email a work request, do so by addressing it to mcc@etal.uri.edu.  Please document your problem in detail with the exact location as described above, and don't forget to include your phone number.

During off hours (weekdays after 4:00 pm, weekends and holidays), please contact the Police Department at 4-2121.  The Police will contact the appropriate Facilities Services staff to respond to the emergency.

Non-emergency work or a request for an estimate for work can be programmed by submitting a request on a "URI Shop Work Order" form.   These forms can be obtained from University Stores at 4-5910, or you can print one out here.  Please be sure to fill in ALL the information requested to help us serve you better.  After completion, send the form to Facilities Services in the Sherman Building and we will route your request as appropriate.

For any utility outage request (electrical, steam or water), please contact the Utilities Engineer.

Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)

  • On May 15, 2003, the Facilities Services Department implemented FacilityCenter, a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).  FacilityCenter allows Facilities Services to automate work requests from campus customers.  More specifically, FacilityCenter enables corrective maintenance workflows to be streamlined and managed from a single point.  University Stores uses FacilityCenter for maintenance supply purchases and associated tracking within work orders.  In the future Get.Facilities will be introduced, a true web-based customer interface for submitting and tracking work requests. You can check out FacilityCenter on the web at this link www.tririga.com.

  • On January 22, 2007, Get.Facilities was implemented in the University's residence halls to allow the Hall Directors to enter maintenance work requests electronically.  This program will soon be introduced to Building Managers in academic, administrative and athletic buildings.
