College Appeals Procedures

College appeals procedures per Section 8.26.10 of the UNIVERSITY MANUAL.


College of Arts and Sciences Several forms are used in Student Affairs to appeal various decisions and to request approval of changes in student records. These forms are readily accessible on open racks in the Dean's Office.  The petition lform is on line at http://www.uri.edu/artsci/dean/petition_form.pdf.  

College of Business Administration The appeals procedure is published on the College of Business website. Students can access the link as well as the petition form directly.

College of the Environment and Life Sciences The College's appeals procedure is detailed and available on the College website.

College of Engineering The appeals procedure is available on line and can be accessed directly. The Dean is in the process of revising the website.

Alan Shawn Feinstein College of Continuing Education The BGS Program Academic Appeals Guidelines will be included in the BGS web pages. They are distributed and discussed in the BGS 100/URI 101B classes and are available through the BGS advisors. Beginning BGS students will be given this information in their orientation program. for further information, contact Dr. Anne Hubbard, Coordinator of the BGS Program at ahubbard@uri.edu.

College of Pharmacy The appeals procedure is available on line and all students are informed of this site. The College is currently in the process of updating the website and will make the appeals process more prominent.

The Graduate School policies on appeals are incorporated in the UNIVERSTIY MANUAL and distributed both in hard copy and available on the web.

Graduate School of Oceanography Although the UNIVERSTIY MANUAL refers specifically to undergraduate colleges, GSO has a Student Admission and Review Committee which deals with student problems. The Committee includes four faculty members and four students. Students report back to their colleagues, so the Committee's activities are well known.

College of Human Sciences and Services The College's Program Modifications/Exception Guidelines are on line and can be accessed directly.

College of Nursing The College's grievance policy appears in the College of Nursing Student Handbook and is available in the Dean's Office and on line at the College's website. The site is currently being revised.

University College The appeals procedures are detailed and are available on the University College web page.
