TEMPORARY COURSES

The TEMPORARY COURSE NEWSLETTER is published on the last workday of each month, as required, throughout the year. It is also available on the web at http://www.uri.edu/facsen /Xnewsletter.html. Temporary course proposals received by the 25th of the month will be included in that month's edition of the TEMPORARY COURSE NEWSLETTER. The Graduate Council may not consider temporary courses at the graduate level during the summer months.

For specific deadlines, please note the dates listed below. Send all electronic originals to FSO@etal.uri.edu. (Paper copies of temporary course proposals are sent to Sheila Black Grubman, Faculty Senate Office and/or Ruth Gormly, Graduate School Office).

November 26, 2007 (November Newsletter) for approval for Spring 2008 offering, Fall 2007 Schedule of Courses, and the publication for the 2008 Summer Session.

June 25, 2008 (June Newsletter) for approval for Spring 2009 Schedule of Courses.

July 25, 2008 (July Newsletter) for approval for Fall 2008 offering.


CURRICULAR CHANGES

October 15, 2007: Curricular materials must be received by the CAC and/or Graduate Council for changes that are to go into effect for Spring 2008, to appear in the 2008 Summer Session publication, and to be included in the Fall 2008 Schedule of Courses.

December 13, 2007: Last Faculty Senate Meeting for approval of changes that are to go into effect for Spring 2008, to appear in the 2008 Summer Session publication, and to be included in the Fall 2008 Schedule of Courses.

February 11, 2008: Last possible date for Curricular Affairs Committee and Graduate Council to receive proposals for extensive curricular changes that are to go into effect for Fall 2008 (i.e. significant revisions to curriculum accompanied by several new, changed, and/or deleted courses).

April 7, 2008: Curricular materials must be received by the CAC and/or Graduate Council for changes that are to go into effect for Fall 2008, to appear in the Spring 2009 Schedule of Courses, and to be included in the 2008-09 UNIVERSITY CATALOG.

May 15, 2008: Last Faculty Senate Meeting for approval of course changes that are to go into effect for Fall 2008, to appear in the Spring 2009 Schedule of Courses, and to be included in the 2008-09 UNIVERSITY CATALOG.
