1.      Call to order at 3:00 p.m. in the Cherry Auditorium, Chester Kirk Building.

 

2.     A moment of silent remembrance:

John Gates, Professor Emeritus of Environmental and Natural Resources Economics

             

Roger Goos, Professor Emeritus of Botany

 

Helen Greene, Associate Professor Emerita of Human Development, Counseling and Family Studies and University Ombud

 

John J. McGuire, Professor Emeritus of Plant Sciences

 

Robert J. Sonstroem, Professor Emeritus of Physical Education

 

3.      Disposition of Minutes of General Faculty - Graduate Faculty Meeting of December 16, 2010 (attached).

 

4.      Approval of degree certification for May 2011:

 

         a.  Provost DeHayes: Undergraduate degrees;

 

         b.  Dean Zawia: Graduate degrees.

 

5.      Adjournment immediately followed by Faculty Senate  Meeting.

Minutes

General Faculty - Graduate Faculty Meeting

December 16, 2010

 

1.   The meeting was called to order by President Dooley at 3:08 p.m. in the Cherry Auditorium, Chester Kirk Building

           

            2.   President Dooley asked the faculty to stand and observe a moment of silence in memory of the following faculty members who had passed away since the last meeting of the General Faculty-Graduate Faculty:

 

Stephen D. Grubman-Black, Professor Emeritus of WomenÕs Studies and Communication Studies

            John V. Long, Professor Emeritus of Education
Dorothy Massey, Professor Emerita
of Physical Education, Health, and Recreation

Richard Traxler, Professor Emeritus of Food Science and Nutrition and of Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Molecular Genetics

 Janett Trubatch, former Vice Provost for Graduate Studies, Research and Outreach

 

3.   The Minutes of General Faculty - Graduate Faculty Meeting of September 23, 2010 were approved as distributed.

 

4.   Provost DeHayes moved to recommend to the Board of Governors for Higher Education approval of the candidates for the award of undergraduate degrees whose names appeared on the list of December 2010 graduates subject to certification by the Colleges and the Director of Enrollment Services.  The motion passed.

 

      Dean Zawia moved to recommend to the Board of Governors for Higher Education approval of the candidates for the award of graduate degrees whose names are certified by the Graduate School for December 2010.  The motion passed.

 

5.   The meeting was adjourned at 3:11 p.m. and was followed by a meeting of the Faculty Senate.
