Resolution #08-09--7

On April 23, 2009, the Faculty Senate adopted the following resolution in response to recommendation 3* from the Library Committee's Report for 2008-09:

BE IT RESOLVED that the Faculty Senate supports the inclusion of the University Library in the University of Rhode Island's Strategic Plan

*Library Committee Report 08-09:

3) It has been noted that the Library was not mentioned in the UniversityÕs own strategic plan. Again from the 2007 accreditation report: ÒBecause of resource constraints and without regular and systemic evaluation of the library or information technology the library has suffered and more attention needs to be paid to planning for its needs in the future.Ó This gives a clear directive to include the Library in University wide strategic planning. We suggest the Library be fully accounted for in future strategic plans.
