Topics in Chinese culture and civilization, overview of major Chinese cultural developments and civilization achievements. Significant figures and events in culture, art and society from ancient to contemporary China. May be taken more than once for credit on different topics. (Lec. 3) Pre: 306 or permission of instructor or section head. APPROVED.
COM 455X Science and Communication in a Century of Limits (4)
Communication of scientific observations and projections of global resource and environmental limits is focused on persuading formation of publics and social movements needed for widespread action in the 21st century. Not for graduate credit. APPROVED.
HSS 150X Citizens All (3)
Provides an opportunity for students to examine local history for community identity that's reflected in public spaces, streets, monuments, buildings, and who is omitted or marginalized from that narrative. (Lec. 3)
