When the April 18 meeting of the Faculty Senate adjourned, the following resolution was under consideration:

The Faculty Senate of the University of Rhode Island reaffirms the long-standing tradition,

and policy, of having a firearms-free campus.

In addition, a substitute motion to ask the President not to proceed further until all sides on the issue had

the opportunity to read the reports and the community has the opportunity to discuss the matter further was on the floor.
