Division for Early Childhood (DEC)

Promoting the optimal development of children through research-based practices.

Updated: 2001-10-09 08:05:03

The Division for Early Childhood (DEC) synthesizes intellectual concepts in early intervention with practices and procedures developed from actual experiences with children. Thus, the contributions of researchers, educators, parents, practitioners, and administrators are all brought together to create and establish practical, effective strategies for Early Intervention and early childhood education. DEC synthesized policies can be implemented to sustain high quality services to children and families over time. DEC publishes "The Journal of Early Intervention" quarterly, and "DEC Recommended Practices in Early Intervention/Early Childhood Special Education"
