After approval by the Graduate School Formatter, an original and one copy of the thesis are submitted to the Graduate School by the candidate.
The Graduate School forward these copies to Special Collections to be bound and accessioned into the Library's collection. The student is responsible for supplying their department with additional copies per the department's requirements.
All copies should be printed on acid-free paper.
Note: Each copy must have a blank cover sheet front and back. Paper should be 20 to 24 lb weight. "Acid-free" should be on the package label for the paper. Rag content is not necessary.
Original Definition
"Original" is defined as the copy of the thesis with the original signatures of the student's committee and original non-textual material (where appropriate) on acid-free paper. Copies have a photocopy of the signed approval page. Color graphic images are allowed in all copies of a thesis. But a dissertation's Original copy must be in black & white.
Each copy of the work shall be submitted in a separate clasp manila envelope and arranged in correct page order with a blank sheet of acid-free paper at the front and back of each copy. Envelopes should be large enough to easily place thesis/dissertation into preventing damage to the paper. A photocopy of the title page shall be taped on all the envelopes. Designation of copy (original and one copy) must appear on the envelopes.
