
First Joint-Research Committee Meeting
The meeting of Joint Research Committee reviewed both ways of joint research and other related agenda in global logistics, business administration, marine affairs, and advanced technology among U7 members. In addition, the meeting studied the research strengths and opportunities, framework and structure of U7 Joint Research Committee, research, personnel, arrange workshops of research presentations, and others very seriously.
At the beginning of meeting, Dr. M. Beverly Swan, the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, University of Rhode Island, had welcoming remarks, and then the president of Inha University had congratulatory remarks. Also, Dr. Young-Tae Chang from Inha University explained the status of U7 Consortium. Every attendee spent much time to delve into "What actions can we take over the next 3~5 years to ensure the productivity and sustainability of the U7 Joint Research program." After Dr. Thomas Grigalunas explained agenda for 2004 February in Hawaii, the meeting had election of chairperson of Joint Research Committee.
Many in the meeting showed much interest in knowing how to allocate researchers and professors in specific field and how to raise fund the targeted research.
