Third Joint-Research and Third BACC Meetings
GU8 three meetings was held in Haifa, Israel from 17th of April to 19th of April. They are 3rd Joint Research Committee (JRC) Meeting, 3rd Building Administrative Capacity Committee (BACC) Meeting and 2nd Library Workshop. Each representatives from GU8 member universities attended and discussed very seriously on all aspects of JRC and BACC business.
The JRC elected Dr. Peter Alfonso, the Vice-Provost for Research of the University of Rhode Island as the new official Chair of the Joint-Research Committee. He will serve for the next three years. The BACC elected Mr. Baruch Marzan, Vice President for Administration of the University of Haifa as the new official chair of the Building Administrative Capacity Committee. He will serve until the next BACC meeting, where a new chair will be elected for the remaining two years. In addition, the participants welcomed the nomination of new GU8 Secretary-General, Dr. Judy Beckman, and the Assistant Secretary-General, Melissa McCarthy, the University of Rhode Island by the second Chair of COP, Dr. Robert L. Carothers.
This resolution will be submitted to the Fourth Council of Presidents for approval and distribution to member institutions.
The JRC and BACC of GU8 have adopted the resolution in Haifa, Israel, the eighteenth day of April, two thousand seven.
