Guruaraj Deshpande - Indian Entrepreneurs Abroad: Business & Social Ventures

Entrepreneur and technology innovator Gururaj "Desh" Deshpande will discuss his life journey from India to the leading ranks of successful technology start-ups in USA. Deshpande will also talk about how he is now turning his entrepreneurial efforts towards social entrepreneurship, working with Clinton Global Initiative and other organizations, to promote social ventures (such as the Akshaya Patra school lunch program) in India and elsewhere. This event is also the 2009 Tony Risica Lecture at the University of Rhode Island (URI), a series that brings top entrepreneurs to URI, sponsored by URI College of Engineering and URI College of Business Administration.
