Founded in 1983, the Clinical Trials Section of Health Services, working in conjunction with many major pharmaceutical companies, has investigated numerous medicines and vaccines, while supporting the mission and facilities of Health Services. Nationwide, all clinical trials are governed by FDA regulation and are essential to the development of new medicines. Patients in our studies have been drawn from both the University community and the private practices of affiliated physicians in surrounding towns. Our staff, which includes physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, and lab technologists, has extensive experience in conducting clinical research. Previous studies have included new antibiotics, vaccines, & medicines for tonsillitis, urinary infections, STDs, the common cold, asthma, arthritis, bronchitis, high cholesterol, and cervical cancer.
