Instructions on How to Use the Web Templates
Step 1: Download the Dreamweaver web template to your computer
The instructions that follow assume you're using Dreamweaver 8.0 on a PC connected to the campus network.
- You start by downloading the URI Dreamweaver Web template in a zip file and saving it to a new folder on your local hard drive. Name the folder anything you want such as WWW, myWebSite or myDeptWeb.
- Download the template zip file now.
- If using WinZip, Browse to the directory where the zip file is located, select the file and Open it. You should see a display similar to this: (click on the image to enlarge it)
- Extract the contents of the zip file to the directory where you saved the zip file. You should see a display similar to this:
- If you do not have WinZip, you can extract the folder in the following way. Right click the zip file you just downloaded and select Extract All.
- The extraction wizard will open and select Next > to proceed. The next step is to select the folder you want to extract the files to. Make sure that it will extract to the folder you created in the first step. If it is not already selected, click the Browse button and find your folder.
Once the proper folder is selected click Next >. The files will then be extracted to your folder. Once this is done click Finish. The contents of the unzipped folder should be as follows.
You may delete the zip file you just downloaded now.
