About the Template

This is a two-column template. Use this template for the site's home page and/or content pages.

The template consists of:

  • URI masthead uniquely and consistently identifying the University on all URI web pages. The masthead should NOT be edited.
  • department content area, determined and designed by site owners,
  • URI footer listing copyright, disclaimer and contact information for the University. The footer should NOT be edited.

Template 2 Edit Areas

This template contains "Edit Areas" A thru H. These "Edit Areas" are described below and defined in the template's page source.

  • Edit Area A — Enter "description," "keywords," and other meta tags as desired.
  • Edit Area B — Enter page title in the page source. This title appears on top of your browser window and is used by most search engines to index your page.
  • Edit Area C — Enter breadcrumb links or second set of navigation links.
  • Edit Area D — Enter main site navigation; these are links to the major sections of your site.
  • Edit Area E — Enter department contact information.
  • Edit Area F — Enter feature image. Limit the image width to 608 pixels
  • Edit Area G — Enter your local site name. This can be the name of your college or department.
  • Edit Area H — Enter main page content; this is the area for the text and graphics that make up the page's primary content.
