Before you do anything else, please make sure that you meet all of the requirements for early registration. Then do the following:
1) Click here and fill out the Plan of Study that opens in a new window:
Even if you filled out a program of study in a previous semester, you have to complete the form again. Sorry if this seems redundant--it is, but that is the price of early registration.
You can complete the form electronically or manually--your choice. If you want to submit electronically, make sure you first save the form with a new file name to your desktop (POS_your last name), then fill it out, save it again (for your records) and send it as an email attachment to firstname.lastname@example.org. If you do not follow these steps, we will receive a blank document. You can also print out the form, fill it out in pen, and drop it off in Lippitt. Either way is fine, just get the completed form to us by September 28, 4:00pm.
2) Get honors advising:
Click here to get your Advising Form.
You can either attend one of the group advising sessions in Lippitt (see schedule below), or you can make an individual appointment on e-Campus to see Walter von Reinhart, the honors advisor in Roosevelt Hall.
If you attend a group advising session, make sure to sign the attendance sheet. There is no need to get a signature on the advising form, then. If you already attended a group advising session in the spring, there is no need to attend another session now. Please mark "attended spring meeting" on your advising form" and you will not have to attend a group advising meeting this fall (word of honor, cross my heart, swear to die, .... )
Walter's advising hours in University College for the fall are: Mondays and Fridays: 10:15 to 11:30, Wednesdays 11:30 to 12:45. To make an appointment, log on to e-Campus, go to the "advisement" module, click on "make an appointment." On the screen that opens up, click on the far right tab "pre-profession / honors", select "honors" and select "WvR" as an advisor on the pull-down list.
If all else fails, please contact Deborah Gardiner at 874-2303 and make an advising appointment with her.
3) Get academic advising in your major:
Make an appointment with your academic advisor in your major--now! It may be a while before your advisor has an open appointment slot. If you do not have a major yet, see an advisor in University College (Roosevelt Hall). Make sure your advisor signs your advising form. Even if your advisor does not make specific recommendations for major courses you should take in the spring, advisor--as long as you get her or his signature, you have met the requirement.
4) Drop off your advising form in the Honors Program Office (300 Lippitt) by September 28, 4:00pm.
