Senior Honors Project

The Senior Honors Project offers students the opportunity to work one-on-one with a faculty mentor on a research and creative endeavor of mutual interest. This arrangement fosters intellectual growth and provides the capstone experience for students completing the Honors Program requirements. Students present their completed projects at the annual Spring Undergraduate Research Conference. For students graduating in December, special arrangements are made to give them an opportunity to present their projects. Grant funding for projects is available through the Honors Program and Office of the Provost on a competitive basis and for selected topic areas.

For their Senior Honors Projects, students have produced videos; mounted photography, sculpture, and art exhibits; written poetry manuscripts and scientific papers; practiced nursing in the Dominican Republic; done field research in California and explored topics from hunger to the unsolved mystery of the yawn. Before you can start working on your Senior Honors Project, you must download, complete, and submit a hard copy of the Senior Honors Proposal and Application to the Honors Program Office in Lippitt Hall, Room 300.
