Prior to seeking an initial appointment for individual advising, students should be sure to thoroughly review the information in these web pages, and refer to our list of suggested courses. It is very helpful if you bring along a copy of your resume/"brag sheet" and copies of transcripts from any other colleges or universities you have attended.
Individual Pre-scheduled Appointments
Students may sign up for individual appointments via e-Campus during the fall and spring semester. Summer advising is reserved for students in the process of applying to professional schools.
Freshmen, sophomores, and those with initial inquiries, should see Pre-Health Lecturer/Advisor Brian Clinton. Mr. Clinton will be available on Wednesdays and Thursdays at University College in Roosevelt Hall from 9am to 4pm. These appointment are 20-minutes long and meant as general information and registration sessions. For students looking for a longer appointment to discuss professional school application and career exploration, please select a 30-minute appointment with Mr. Clinton on a Monday or Friday at the Center for Biotechnology & Life Sciences.
To schedule an appointment, from e-Campus go to the advisement page, then click on the far-right tab labeled "Pre-Professional/Honors." Select "Pre-Medicine" and select the appropriate advisor.
Students in the process of applying to professional school through the Health Professions Advisory Committee should consult with HPAC Chair Kathleen Maher.
Note: Pre-health advising is supplemental to, not in place of, major advising. If you have an advisor hold on e-Campus, please see your major advisor.
Monthly Social Hour
Students are also encouraged to drop by at the monthly AMP social hour! Aspiring Medical Professionals, or AMP, is a pre-health student group which collaborates with the Pre-Health Professions Advising Program to build a sense of community and to encourage one another on this journey.
During the Fall 2011 semester AMP social hours will be held on the third Thursday of each month at 4pm in Lippitt 402. See Events page for details.
A variety of information sessions are available each semester. Check here for more details.
