Position Description
TITLE: Assistant Coach, Women's Soccer
DIVISION: Student Development - (Athletics)
REPORTS TO: Head Coach, Women's Soccer
GRADE: Not applicable
SUPERVISES: Support staff
BASIC FUNCTION:
Under the direction of the head coach, assist with the successful administration of the women’s soccer program, including teaching, motivating, evaluating and recruiting qualified high caliber student-athletes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in evaluation and recruitment of prospective student athletes.
Assist in the training and development of players, scouting, and in making team travel arrangements.
Assist in scheduling promotions, marketing, fund-raising projects and summer camps and clinics.
Maintain the recruiting and fundraising databases.
OTHER DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Be involved in the local soccer community.
Perform other duties as required.

ENVIRONMENTAL
CONDITIONS:
This position is subject to both inside and outside work; extreme cold and hot temperatures can be encountered.
QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in physical education or related field; successful experience coaching women’s soccer at the Division I college or semi-professional level; experience organizing and directing soccer camps. Also required are: proven organizational skills and administrative ability; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to teach, motivate, evaluate and recruit qualified high caliber student-athletes; computer proficiency, including ability to maintain recruiting and fundraising databases; knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations as they apply to recruitment and player eligibility. PREFERRED: Division I or professional soccer playing experience; top level club coaching experience; familiarity with US Soccer Club structure and recruiting; USSF and/or NSCAA coaching credentials; strength and conditioning (CSCS) license.
