Open Enrollment

May 15, 2009 through June 12, 2009

The State of RI has announced that Open Enrollment will be held from Friday, May 15 to Friday, June 12, 2009.
All forms must be in URI Employee Benefits, 80 Lower College Road, by 4:30 pm on Friday, June 12.

During open enrollment you have the opportunity to make changes, enroll or cancel your benefits. Otherwise, there will need to be a qualifying status change in order for you to make changes to your benefits.

Changes can be made to medical, dental, vision, legal insurance, life insurance. You can switch from a family plan to an individual plan or vice versa. You can waive or rescind your medical plan.

Employees who are enrolled in the Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or Dependent Care must re-enroll to continue these benefits. Your current coverage ends June 30, 2009.

This year, the FSA will offer a debit card. A representative from Cornerstone will be on campus to discuss both the FSA and the Dependent Care on Wednesday, June 3, 2009, in the Memorial Union, Atrium 2. Amy Rogers will be available to answer all of your questions. There will be two sessions: one at 11:00 a.m. and one at 1:00 p.m.

Just a reminder that you only need to complete forms if you are making changes. No new forms are needed if your existing coverage is okay as is. The only exception is for the FSA and Dependent Care. New forms are required. The FSA / Dependent Care Form will be available on our web site May 15, 2009.
