Research
Associate I (4 Positions), PSA/NEA,
(New), Cellular & Molecular Biology.
Salary Range: $36,702-$45,136 (Full time/calendar year
rate). Positions are limited to 11/29/09 with extension contingent on funding.
Work independently to perform laboratory research in plant molecular biology
and the generation and analysis of transgenic plants. Required: Bachelor's degree in
biology, plant biology, molecular biology, chemical engineering, or a related
field, with five years of experience in cell culture, generation of transgenic
plants, vector construction or related areas, OR a master's degree in
biology, plant biology, molecular biology, or a related field, with a
background in molecular biology and/or transgenic plants; strong interpersonal
skills; ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; excellent
interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team environment or
independently; ability to work with a diverse population; demonstrated computer

contingent on funding. Perform research on modeling and prediction of tropical
cyclone activity and relevant atmospheric and oceanic processes pertinent to
various federal and private grants. Pursue independent lines of creative
research in the area of tropical cyclones and relevant physical issues. Required: Ph. D. in Atmospheric Sciences or related
field; experience in tropical meteorology and numerical modeling; prior
experience that may have been gained through research experience in analysis of
model and observational data; strong ability to conduct research with minimum
supervision; fluency in scientific programming languages and prior experience with
compliers, shell scripting techniques on UNIX operating workstations and
mainframes; excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with a diverse
population; excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to
