SNOW REMOVAL & GROUNDS WORK

SPECIAL REPOST FOR

LOCAL 528 MEMBERS

 

The Department of Landscape and Grounds is preparing a list for 2009 of Council 94/Local 528 employees to assist, complement or relieve Grounds personnel during snow removal operations and a list for grounds maintenance work.  Employees on the Sign Up list(s) will be notified when additional workers are needed to support the Landscape and Grounds department personnel.  Personnel will be contacted by Seniority and in rotation.

 

Snow removal work includes: shoveling, snow blowing, de-icing, sanding, operating small equipment and other related duties.  Training for the operation of equipment will be scheduled.

 

Grounds maintenance work includes: weeding, trimming, mulching, planting, raking, mowing, sweeping, litter and trash collection, shoveling, setup and breakdown for campus events, athletic games, and other related duties.

 

Interested personnel must sign up with Diana Mondragon, in the Sherman building second floor, before February 19, 2009.  Must show URI ID to sign up, no phone calls will be accepted.  Any names received after February 19, 2009 will be added to the bottom of the list.

 

NOTE:  Personnel are required to work overtime in their home department before accepting overtime work in other departments.
