2009 CAMPUS GROUNDS OVERTIME
SPECIAL POSTING FOR LOCAL 528 MEMBERS
The University needs additional workers
(approximately 10-20) to work on overtime basis to assist lands & Grounds
perform required cleanup and campus beautification duties. This work includes, but not limited to:
planting, seeding, raking, digging, weeding, mowing, trimming, pruning,
trash/litter cleanup and other aspects of regular landscape maintenance.
Date
& Times:
Overtime shifts will primarily occur on the
following weekend days: April 25th & 26th; May 2nd,
3rd, 9th & 10th. Shifts will be 8am – 4:30pm (lunch at
noon). Additional dates & times may
be added, at which point those who have signed up will be notified from the
Asst. Director of Lands & Grounds by phone or email.
Please
note: shifts will be filled in accordance to state seniority. If local 528 does not meet quota, members of
PTAA and ACT will be considered from the sign up sheets.

COMMENCEMENT 2009 OVERTIME
SPECIAL POSTING FOR LOCAL 528 MEMBERS
The University needs approximately 40 people
on Saturday May 16th and approximately 30 people on Sunday May 17th
to work on overtime basis for Commencement 2009. This work includes setup and breakdown of
equipment and supplies, custodial duties, grounds cleaning, and all other jobs
relating to the event.
Please note: shifts will be filled in
accordance to state seniority. If local
528 does not meet quota, members of PTAA and ACT will be considered from the
sign up sheets.
Shift
Specifics:
Saturday, May 16th & May 17th
- Main Campus: Report to Sherman
Building. Grounds Crews begin work at 6am; all
other crews start at 10am until completion (approximately 7 pm). Breaks will be 9-9:15am (for grounds
crews) and 4:30-4:45pm.
- Athletic Complex: Report to Jodi Hawkins at Mackal
Field House. Start at 10am until
completion (approximately 3pm), break will be 1:15-1:30pm.

Salary Range: $57,155-$72,151 (Full
time/calendar year rate). Position is limited to 6/30/2010 with extension
contingent on funding. Assist the Assistant Vice President for Research in the
following: advising faculty and students regarding intellectual property (IP);
identifying, evaluating, marketing, protecting, licensing and commercializing
IP; and evaluating the IP provisions of sponsored research agreements. A bachelor of sciences degree with an MBA, or
a graduate degree in a life or physical science is required. Two years of experience in successfully
licensing or developing intellectual property is required. Four years of such experience preferred. The following are required: excellent
communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills; ability to
organize intellectual property information in an effective manner; ability to
organize, coordinate and supervise support staff; computer proficiency in

overall operation and supervision of the Tootell Aquatics
Center as it relates to
all programming, maintenance and cleaning, and revenue-generating programs and
special events. Bachelor's degree in physical education, recreation, student
personnel, business administration or closely related field required; master's
degree preferred. The following are
required: two years of full-time
professional experience in pool management, operations and programming; demonstrated ability to develop a diversified
aquatics program at a college or university level, including budget
preparation, marketing & promotion, staff training and evaluation
(comparable experience in corporate or private aquatic facility acceptable);
demonstrated ability to recruit, train, supervise, and motivate a large diverse
part-time staff; experience with pool filtration, chlorination and overall
balancing of pool water chemistry required; excellent verbal and written
communication skills, with an emphasis on strong interpersonal and public
relations skills; Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or Aquatic Facility Operator
(AFO) certification. Must hold the following certifications: certification as

Energy Management Control Systems (EMCS), PSA/NEA, (107200), Facility Services.
Salary Range: $53,055-$66,960 (Full
time/calendar year rate). Manage the University's energy management system (EMS)
to ensure maximum performance of the HVAC equipment; oversee EMS maintenance
and repair, and other automated controls maintenance repair contracts as
required; develop specifications for EMS and related HVAC vendor contracts to
meet the changing requirements of the University's environmental systems; in
conjunction with the University's Office of Capital Projects, perform design
and construction reviews of control and operating systems as developed;
responsible for the supervision of University and vendor mechanics employed in
the repair and maintenance of EMS and controls, and major HVAC equipment. An associate's degree required, bachelor's
degree preferred. Must have a minimum of five years of experience with HVAC
systems, with emphasis on preventive and predictive maintenance, energy
management systems, energy maintenance control systems, or related fields. At time of appointment, must possess a Rhode
Island State Refrigeration License, or a license from one of the mechanical
trades, issued by the State Department of Labor and Training, Office of
Professional Regulation (Pipefitters/Refrigeration), and must maintain such
