Assistant Professor, Textiles, Fashion Merchandising & Design, AAUP Acad, (107291), Textiles, Fashion Merchandising & Design. This is an academic year, tenure-track position with a preferred starting date of 07/01/09. Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in textiles, fashion merchandising and design. Advise undergraduate and graduate students. Develop a program of creative or scholarly activity with potential for outside funding that coordinates with departmental, college, and university goals. Publish in scholarly journals. Participate in university service and related professional activities. Required: Earned doctorate with at least one degree in textiles, clothing, and/or design; evidence of effective teaching and potential for scholarly productivity; strong classroom and interpersonal communication skills; ability to teach social and cultural aspects of dress as primary instructional area; secondary area from among introduction to design, textile science, or merchandising; potential to contribute to cultural diversity, international focus, economic development, and/or interdisciplinary research; ability to develop ties with domestic and international business community.
