Assistant Professor, Kinesiology (Physical Education Pedagogy), AAUP Acad, (106444), Kinesiology.  This is an academic year, tenure-track position beginning Fall of 2009.  (1) Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in health, physical education, and adapted physical education and engage in scholarly activities; (2) mentor/advise undergraduate/graduate students; (3) seek external funding through scholarship and research; (4) collect departmental assessment data and assist in writing state and NCATE/NASPE accreditation reports; and (5) provide service to the department, school, university, P-12 schools, community organizations, and professional organizations.  Required: Earned doctorate from an accredited university or college in Physical Education Pedagogy or related field, with appropriate and related experience; K-12 public school teaching experience in physical education and health education; demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and professional development activities; excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to work with  diverse groups.  Preferred: University teaching experience in the areas of physical education pedagogy or related field; experience in student teaching supervision; proficient implementation of technology in teaching and research; clear understanding of state certification requirements and state initiatives; demonstrated ability to publish in both research and applied journals within the field; experience in creating NCATE/NASPE accreditation reports; a record of academic, professional and community service; demonstrated willingness to oversee state and national accreditation for physical and health education. Advisor, International Education, PSA/NEA, (109914), Office of International Education. Salary Range: $45,745-$57,232 (Full-time/calendar year rate). Position is limited to 12-31-09 with extension contingent on funding. Under the supervision of the Director of the Office of International Education, assist with the advising of students who plan to participate in study abroad programs (direct enrollment, affiliate, national and international exchanges) and international internship.  Assist with the coordination of recruiting, orienting, and placing students in outgoing and incoming study abroad programs.  Design and implement pre-departure orientation and re-entry programs. Assist in the day-to-day operations of the office. Required: Master’s degree in one of the following: cross-cultural communication, counseling, cultural studies, foreign language, higher education (preferably in college student personnel); a minimum of two years of relevant experience in an education abroad office (experience as graduate assistant in an education abroad office may be included); ability to coordinate bilateral exchange programs; experience working with international partners and other home institution departments, faculty and professional staff; experience working with computer database programs; experience advising students on both a group and individual basis; ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; strong interpersonal skills; ability to interpret institutional policies, objectives and regulations, and to prepare detailed reports.
