Position Description
Title of Position: Assistant Professor Research
Department:
This is a calendar year, non-tenure track, full-time position, limited to
5-31-09 with extension contingent on funding.
BASIC FUNCTION:
Coordinate clinical research
activities of a behavior change research project conducted in a juvenile
correctional facility; collaborate in dissemination and grant writing. Primary responsibilities include supervising
teatment providers in behavioral change research conducted in a juvenile
correctional facility, specifically: providing regular individual and group
clinical supervision to treatment providers; training teatment providers in the
delivery of manualized treatment protocols; coding treatment integrity and
group treatment dynamics; and conducting inter-rater reliability checks of
fidelity and diagnostic assessments.
Professional expectations include securing independent funding, developing
a record of professional publications, presenting at professional meetings, and
assisting in the administration of running various projects.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required: Earned
doctorate in clinical psychology with completion of an APA-approved internship
and a 2-year postdoctoral fellowship in juvenile forensics by time of
appointment; expeirence with incarcerated juvenile forensic populations in the
areas of clinical supervision, diagnostic assessments, and staff training;
experience in providing and supervising individuals in Motivational
Interviewing and other behavioral treatments; demonstrated ability to develop a
record of professional publications and potential to attract external funding,
as well as ability to present at professional meetings; excellent oral and
written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
