TITLE: Research Assistant I
DIVISION: Academic
Affairs (CELS: Cooperative Extension/4H)
REPORTS TO: RI 4-H Operation Military Kids (OMK) Grant

SUPERVISES: Students as required
BASIC FUNCTION:
Under general supervision,
report program impacts monthly on the national OMK website, prepare end of year
report, (coordinate RI OMK team meetings and routine correspondence),
facilitate OMK programming for military families and assist PIs in the
preparation of additional funding requests.
Under general supervision coordinate and facilitate the Ready Set Go trainings for adults, Speak Out for Military Kids trainings for youth, and educational programs for children in science, technology, healthy lifestyles and citizenship in accordance with the National 4-H Mission Mandate.
Coordinate quarterly RI OMK team meetings and participate in National OMK and military liaison conference calls and trainings.
Disseminate materials and information to include: monthly and annual reports, update OMK website content, serve as the initial contact for project personnel, state OMK team, project partners and the public.
Prepare reports, newsletters, brochures; serve as RI contact for communications from state, federal and private sector OMK partners; coordinate mailings to OMK partners and program recipients.
Prepare final year-end reports to USDA and the Department of Defense and manage the printing of color corporate report for dissemination to local and national partners, the community and decision makers.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform other duties as required.
LICENSES, TOOLS AND
EQUIPMENT:
Personal computers, printers; a driver’s license valid in the State of
ENVIRONMENTAL
CONDITIONS:
The incumbent is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental
conditions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required: Bachelor's degree in education, youth development,
human development, science education or related field and up to one year of
volunteer or professional experience in related field; ability to communicate
effectively, both verbally and in writing; strong interpersonal skills; ability
to work both independently and in team settings. Must be well-organized, self-motivated, and
interested in collaborating with the Principal Investigator on all aspects of
the project. Commitment to diversity and
inclusion required. Basic computer
skills required. Must provide own instate
transportation. Preferred: Experience managing youth outreach programs;
experience with military family support programs; experience preparing reports
for program sponsors/funders.
